What Causes the “Black Screen and Unresponsiveness” issue on MacBook Pro?

Also, we looked into the reasons due to which it is triggered and listed them as follows. Now that you have a basic understanding of the nature of the problem, we will move on towards the solutions.

Solution 1: Changing Display Source

The most basic cause of the issue is due to a glitch with the display or permanent/temporary damage to the display. Therefore, it is recommended for you to connect your computer to a Television or a secondary monitor with an HDMI cable. If the display works fine with the TV, it is likely that the issue is with the display itself and it requires maintenance. However, if the display doesn’t work, follow the steps below to perform some basic troubleshooting steps.

Solution 2: Restarting MacBook

If the computer is having issues with booting up correctly, the issue might be solved by forcing the computer to restart. For that:

NVRAM stores the basic settings for screen, speakers and the hard drives. These settings might have been corrupted due to which the issue is being caused. Therefore, in this step, we will be resetting these settings to fix the issue completely. For that:

It is possible that SMC settings might have been corrupted. Therefore, in this step, we will be resetting the System Management Controller settings.
