Anyhow, If you are on PC and are unable to launch the game because of constant crashes. There is a potential fix that has seemingly gotten extremely positive reviews from AMD users. The problem strictly relates to Dynamic FidelityFX Cas that has a scaling bug, preventing Cyberpunk 2077 from launching. To get rid of this bug, there are few steps that I’ll explain in step by step process down below.

Prevent Cyberpunk 2077 From Crashing On Startup

This should now fix the problem. The takeaways from the entire procedure were the following two things. During our in-depth testings here at appuals, we noticed that this crashing problem wasn’t addressed in Hotfix 1.06. And although nearly all startup crashes correlate with AMD hardware. It’s still worth trying; if you are using Nvidia Graphics Card and noticing similar startup crashes.

Other Methods To Stop Cyberpunk 2077 From Crashing

Suppose the method above did not stop Cyberpunk 2077 from crashing. Here are some alternative procedures you can look forward to.

FidelityFX Cas In Cyberpunk 2077

Understanding Dynamic FidelityFX Cas and Static FidelityFX Cas’s core purpose is a bit complex, but I’ll break it down. What essentially Dynamic Fidelity FX Cas does is that depending on whatever scaling percentage you set. The rendering resolution is automatically changed; therefore, pixels are rendered from lower resolution, ultimately resulting in High FPS. The FPS part does sound great; however, you must be wondering what about the image quality since rendering is based on a new resolution that is lower? Well, thankfully, the newly rendered pixels are then upscaled to native resolution, and all together, you won’t see a drop in image quality. The feature is outstanding, especially in games like Cyberpunk 2077, where getting high FPS is close to a  miracle. Cyberpunk 2077 has two types of FidelityFX Cas, Dynamic and Static. We discussed the overall meta of these two settings in the paragraph above. Now, the specific difference between these two only boils down to the fact that Static will always render pixels at one particular resolution. While, Dynamic allows you to set target frames combined with Minimum and Maximum Resolution, therefore, allowing the game to render at any resolution with target fps as a priority.
