Intel has released a new update to the Graphics Drivers that will be applicable to all PCs running Windows 10 OS. This release has one of the longest changelogs as it brings quite a few features that will work well with the company’s upcoming CPUs and GPUs.

Intel Releases Latest Update For Its Graphics Drivers With Several New Features:

The Intel DCH driver version 27.20.100.8783 was initially released on September 29. But the version is now widely available to users who check for updates using Intel’s Support Assistant tool. With this update, Intel is introducing support for the 11th Generation processors and the new Iris Xe graphics architecture.

— SMiThaYe (@SM1ThaYe) September 30, 2020 While the support for the upcoming CPUs and Xe-based GPUs is important, the Intel DCH Drivers also has support for several new features that will work well when users have these new CPUs and GPUs working in their Windows 10 machines. Some notable mentions include support for additional decoding and encoding for videos in HEVC and VP9 formats. Intel is also making improvements to its Turbo Technology Power for supported hardware. Additionally, the company is enabling new enhancements for HEVC, HDR video playback, Dolby Vision, and VP9. The update also brings sampler feedback and Graphics Profile Guided Optimization to supported hardware.

Latest Intel Graphics Drivers Contains Just One Bug Fix But Issues Still Remain:

The latest Intel Graphics driver adds support for two new titles: Rogue Company and Star Wars Squadrons. However, it contains only one bug fix and it applies to the Resident Evil 3 remake. The driver reportedly mitigates performance issues when playing the game on a device with DirectX12 and Intel Ice Lake CPU with Gen10 Iris Plus graphics.

— Vitor Domingos (@vd) September 30, 2020 Intel has confirmed that it is aware of two bugs that might occur after users install the latest update. The new driver might crash some games, such as Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon, Horizon Zero Dawn, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Breakpoint, among other titles. Apart from the support for several new features that will become useful after users upgrade their hardware with the Intel 11th-Gen CPUs that come with Xe Graphics GPUs, the latest update promises to address general bugs, improve overall system performance, and also prepare computers for future Windows 10 Updates.
