Need For Speed Heat’s final update launches on Tuesday, June 9th on all platforms. In addition to crossplay, the update will introduce an array of bug fixes. The PC update weighs in at 1.1 GB, with the console counterparts coming in at approximately 7 GB. Following the update, launching Need For Speed Heat will prompt users with an option to enable crossplay. Doing so will allow you to party up with friends from other platforms. Icons next to players’ names will indicate their platform, and proximity chat will also work for cross-platform play. With the last update to Need For Speed Heat announced, EA has revealed that a new game is coming soon. “As we at Criterion shift gears into the future with full focus on developing the next Need for Speed game, this will be the final update for Need for Speed Heat,” writes Matt Webster here, General Manager of Criterion Games. “Since the launch of Need for Speed Heat and as players continue to tear it up in Palm City, we’re listening to what you love about this experience, and what you all believe could be even better. With these insights, we have a terrific foundation to create the most expressive, most socially connected, action-packed game yet for Need for Speed fans and beyond.” EA also wants Need For Speed to be more accessible, so Heat will be arriving onto EA Access and Origin Access Basic Vault on June 16th. The company hints at an upcoming Need For Speed related announcement during EA Play Live on June 18th.
