The newest entry in the series of processors comes for mid-range smartphones. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G is the sixth entry in the mid-range processor series. It is an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 730G. It should be noted that the Snapdragon 730G already has an overclocked GPU when compared to the Snapdragon 730. So, the 732G has marginally better CPU and GPU performance compared to both the 730 and 730G. According to PCWorld, the Snapdragon 732G increases the clock speed of the Kyro 470CPU from 2.2GHz to 2.3GHz. In comparison, Qualcomm says that the Adreno 618 GPU present in the new processor has been “bolstered” compared to the one present in the 730G. It is still not clear what Qualcomm means by it, but it should work marginally better. Other than these, both processors share a similar Qualcomm Artificial intelligence engine that supports Neural processing via Qualcomm Neural Processing SDK. It is also worth mentioning that it will support the same Qualcomm X15 LTE modem, too, which means only the Snapdragon 765G and 768G support 5G in the mid-range market. Lastly, Qualcomm has also incorporated the Snapdragon Elite gaming experience in the processor. It helps in improving image quality while gaming. An upcoming device from POCO Global would be the first smartphone to use the new processor. The company claimed that it would set a ‘new benchmark’ in the mid-range smartphone category.
