The specifications and pricing details of the smartphone have already been leaked. OnePlus has confirmed some of the leaked specifications, such as the screen size and refresh rate. According to Gsmarena, OnePlus has also confirmed that the OnePlus 8T will support 65W Warp charging. According to OnePlus, the new charger will provide OnePlus 8T “a day’s charge in 15 minutes.”
The new charger is rated to top up the phone in only 39 minutes, while the 4500 mAh battery can be charged up to 58% in only 15 minutes. 65W fast charging is not new in the industry; the sister company of OnePlus Oppo has already introduced 65W Super VOOC 2.0 earlier this year. Like Oppo, OnePlus had to use two identical 2250 mAh battery cells to achieve such a high charging speed. Using two identical battery cells helps in lowering the temperature of the device while charging. OnePlus has also built an encryption chip on both the adapter and the cable and 12 temperature sensors to monitor the thermals and efficiently charge the device. OnePlus has also ditched the USB-A connector in favor of the USB-C connector on the adaptor, which will also help in charging compatible laptops and other devices. It can also charge old OnePlus phones as well.
