The leaks and renders released thus far have been specific to the OnePlus 8T codenamed “Kebab” and NOT the OnePlus 8T Pro. According to XDA Developers, the distinct lack of the Pro model in the leaks this close to launch may suggest that OnePlus may ditch the Pro models this time around. It would be the first time since the launch of OnePlus 7 Pro last year when OnePlus wouldn’t launch the Pro model with its flagship device. It is also interesting to note that the OnePlus 8 Pro was regarded as a true flagship by users and reviewers due to excellent image quality.

— Max J. (@MaxJmb) September 7, 2020 Another prominent leaker Max J who has a shining track record when it comes to leaking OnePlus devices, tweeted an image that showed there wouldn’t be a “Kebab2”. Upon asking, he confirmed that he was talking about the OnePlus 8T Pro model. The only logical explanation that can be driven from the deliberate lack of leaks for the OnePlus 8T Pro is that the device does not exist in the first place. As far as the famous Maclaren edition is concerned, the partnership ended a few months ago, and neither of the companies showed any interest in forming a new one. Lastly, OnePlus is planning to introduce the device at the end of this month, but the reveal in the first week of October is also expected.
