After that, rumours floated of an upcoming budget smartphone with little to no compromises from the company. This smartphone, in recent days, came to be known as the OnePlus Nord. A completely different line from their current smartphones. According to what the rumour trail and leaked specs have pointed towards, the OnePlus Nord would have a Snapdragon 765G chip with support for 5G. The company claims to be focusing on better camera technology to compete with other smartphones in the same tier. What tier is that though?
— Android Police (@AndroidPolice) July 1, 2020 According to a tweet from Android Police, the company has already sold out the first round of pre-orders with the next round on July 8. Customers are required to pay 20$ for the initial fee and the smartphone is rumoured to top out at about $500. While this would put it a tad expensive than the iPhone SE and Google’s Pixel 4a, these would obviously be stacked up against each other. The company is laying focus on the cameras, dual selfie shooters too, because the competition really nails that. Both the iPhone SE and Pixel 4a (will come out soon) would have amazing cameras. It would be a tough battle to compete against these.
