Hogwarts Legacy was originally announced back in 2020 with a release date planned for 2021, however the game was pushed back a year to 2022. The reveal trailer has garnered over 28 million views to date and remains on of the most exciting announcements for PlayStation’s September 2020 event. The game is in development for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, making it a cross-generation game. The game is set in the 1800s, long-before Harry Potter and co. were ever alive, featuring a new character that you as the player that create and customize on your own. Based in the world of Hogwarts, the game will allow you to take part in familiar Harry Potter activities like casting spells, fighting giant monsters, and exploring the land to discover new adventures. The State of Play will run for about 20 minutes, out of which 14 minutes are pure unadulterated gameplay captured on PlayStation 5. The rest of the show will include some key insights from members of the Hogwarts Legacy team that are helping bring the game to life. It is expected that we will finally get a concrete release date or an at least an update on the release window for the game at this State of Play. As always, PlayStation put a warning in their blogpost cautioning streamers who will put clips or VODs of the show up on their channels that the stream may include copyrighted music, which they should accordingly censor in order to evade any trouble.
