The Y-Series
Starting off with the final products to be announced, the company went for the budget-conscious people for this. The Y-series lineup includes the 43-inch 43Y1 and the 32-inch 32Y1. The 32-inch model is the cheapest of the class. It comes in at INR 12,999. With that, the users get HD ready resolution. This is just a fancy way of saying that it is topped at 1366×768 resolution. This, although sub-par, resolution at this price point actually beats out the competition. Not to mention, it comes with a variety of features. The 43-inch model comes with a full-HD resolution though. It is priced at INR 22,999. Again, offering a lower price than most TVs in this category. As a part of the Y-series lineup, the TVs are in fact smart TVs powered by the latest Android TV software. Both these TVs come with excellent hardware. They feature 10W speakers which can output sound which supports Dolby Atmos sound. That doesn’t really guarantee good audio but at least you know it won’t be bad. Going back to the software, the Android TV OS can be controlled using a companion app on the PlayStore or the App Store. Additionally, it comes with certain proprietary apps such as OxygenPlay UI on top of Google’s. This helps in adding additional features such as OnePlus Play that gives additional functionality with your OnePlus devices.
The U-Series
The biggie of the day, no pun intended, was the OnePlus 55U1. The 55-inch TV is the most premium one from the lineup. It comes in at a 4K resolution on top of the HDR 10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support. Just like the other devices, it comes with Dolby Atmos support with its speakers. The speakers on the 55U1 are positioned at a 90-degree angle which makes for a good sound signature and experience all over. Additionally, the hardware is quite top-notch. OnePlus announced that similar to the older Q-series, the 55U1 would have a metal back with a carbon fibre texture. The screen to body ratio is quite amazing too. Unlike its counterparts, the TV has about a 95 per cent screen to body ratio which allows an immersive experience.
