Game of the Year – Red Dead Redemption 2

Although Red Dead Redemption 2 first released in 2018, the PC version of the game was exclusively available on Epic Games Store. The Steam release wasn’t until December 2019, so that’s why it was nominated for The Steam Awards 2020. And it makes sense too, considering it took the top award from amazing titles like Hades, Doom Eternal, Fall Guys, and Death Stranding.

VR Game of the Year – Half-Life: Alyx

Following up the most-prized award, the Steam Awards VR Game of the Year award was taken by Half-Life: Alyx. While the game isn’t exactly the Half-Life game fans wanted, it still did very well as evident from its perfect rating on Steam. Other nominees included Phasmophobia, The Room VR, Thief Simulator VR, and Star Wars: Squadrons.

Labor of Love – Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

The Labor of Love Steam Award was given to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive for its years upon years of continued support and ever-increasing popularity. Nominees for this award include Terraria, No Man’s Sky, Among Us, The Witcher 3, and more. With a list of nominees like that, this award is sure to upset many gamers.

Better With Friends – Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout

After taking off on Twitch mid last year, Fall Guys became extremely popular very quickly. Other titles competing for this award included Sea of Thieves, Borderlands 3, Deep Rock Galactic, and Risk of Rain 2.

A great collection of OST gave Doom Eternal the lead over Halo: MCC, Helltaker, and NFS: Deluxe Edition in this award category.
