Rumors suggest that Ubisoft, the company behind popular franchises like Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry, is working on a Battle Royale game set to release later this year. According to a tweet by one of the trustworthy sources with twitter handle Rod “4475 SR & Immortal peak” Breslau, the game called Hyper Scape will deliver a futuristic take on the genre.
— Rod “4475 SR & Immortal peak” Breslau (@Slasher) June 29, 2020 Ubisoft Montreal is developing the AAA fast-paced shooter. The fast-paced gameplay and futuristic weapons do seem new to the genre, but the gameplay could draw comparisons from Apex Legends, which isn’t bad at all. The game will go into closed beta next week while the open beta and full launch may be in the coming months. The development of games takes into account the influence of streamers in the BR games genre, which is why the game will be integrated with Twitch (one of the biggest streaming platforms). According to the report, the integration with Twitch runs deep as Twitch chat directly influences in-game events. We are not sure how they would pull something like this off; it would definitely be the highlight of the game (at least for its early days). Much like the release of Valorant, Ubisoft has invited a bunch of streamers, pro players, and game reporters to play the game. The initial gameplay footage, along with their early thoughts, is said to be released later this week. Most importantly, the game will be free to play on all compatible platforms.
