Valorant
If you somehow haven’t heard of Valorant, it is a unique blend of Overwatch and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive with competitiveness as a priority. It is in development by the same people who created League of Legends, and is currently in closed beta in North America, Russia, Turkey, Europe, Brazil, Latin America and Korea. When it was first unveiled at the beginning of this year, Valorant was given a release window of Summer 2020. Due to the ongoing global pandemic impacting almost all industries, many expected the game’s release to be delayed. As it turns out, Riot’s development has not suffered any major setbacks, and it appears the game is ready for launch. Currently, the closed beta of Valorant features three maps, ten agents, and one game mode. For launch, Riot plans to introduce a new map, agent, as well as a unique game mode. Aside from a handful of leaks, we don’t really know what to expect in the future. In addition to content, Valorant’s full launch will be on a global scale, so players located in currently unsupported regions like Japan and Oceania will be able to play the game without any hitches. As for the ongoing closed beta, Riot hasn’t announced a closing date. Many expected there to be an open beta prior to launch, but it seems that’s not the case. If you’re interested in trying out the game before its launch on June 2nd, the only way to gain access to the closed beta is by getting a Twitch drop. You can do this by connecting your Riot Games account with your Twitch account, and then watching Valorant streams that have drops enabled.
